This is accomplished thru two things:

The Chinook has a High Map Speed
The Chinook has the ability to fly over all Platoons, Bases and Terrain found on the World Map.

Update History[]

The Chinook first became available for use by Players via the introduction of Special Ops in the Game Update of Apr. 03, 2013.
The Chinook was added to the Gear Store via the Hookers Special Op in the Game Update of Oct. 16, 2013.

Special Op Surge[]

A Special Op Surge is a mini event that War Commander ran for a limited duration. During this time period one specific rare Special Op will have its chances of winning "Dramatically Increased" when you destroy Rogue Faction Bases that follow that Surge's criteria.

Special Op Surge - Hooker - Ran from April 19, 2013 through April 22, 2013.

Only available for Payers use via the Hookers Special Op.
The Hookers Special Op is available for 10 Medals in the Gear Store.
The normal Map Speed of a Platoon will influence that same Platoon's Map Speed when being transported by the Chinook. Example: A Chinook carrying a Rocket Buggy travels faster than a Chinook carrying a platoon of Behemoths.
When the Chinook is transporting a Platoon with more than one type of Unit its Map Speed is derived from that of the slowest Unit in the Platoon.
The Chinook's Platoon Icon always show it carrying a Humvee regardless of the actual Units being transported. This provides the Player with the side benefit of disguising the true content and strength of a Platoon from Enemy Players.
